I debugged software better than my life
Why could I debug complex software problems but struggle to pack a lunchbox in the evening?
My ADHD diagnosis helped explain contradictions like this and ADHD coaching changed how I approached them. I realized I’d spent years debugging software more thoughtfully than I debugged my own life.
I’ll share how I learned to investigate what was actually getting in the way, understand what my brain needed, and experiment with sometimes ridiculous solutions. We’ll look at what those experiments taught me about ADHD, and why some parts of working in tech naturally give my brain exactly what it needs.
Who is this talk for?
This is for the person in tech who has spent years wondering, “Why can everyone else just do this?”
It’s for neurodivergent people, those who might not know they are yet, and people who work alongside them.
What will attendees take away?
Recognize how ADHD can hide behind struggles we mistake for a lack of discipline.
Learn to “debug” a struggle: identify the actual friction and what their brain needs before jumping to solutions.
See how unconventional solutions can work when standard advice repeatedly doesn’t.

Learning about ADHD helped her understand herself and coaching taught her to stop looking for the “right” solutions and start figuring out what actually works for her.
