Persuasion & partnership
How to make your opinions heard and align effectively with technical & non-technical leaders.
Do you sit silently in meetings or Slack threads instead of voicing your opinions? Do you feel frustrated when people don’t understand your ideas? Do you avoid sharing your thoughts with your manager or senior leaders? Or does it feel like your perspective is only heard when someone else advocates for it?
The ability to communicate persuasively and influence decision making is a key leadership skill. In this workshop we will learn two techniques to help you to build effective partnerships at work.
We’ll practice a framework for asking coaching questions to understand how people around us perceive the world, deepen empathy, and form relationships where we feel comfortable to contribute our thinking. We’ll learn how to structure our arguments to give us the best chance of being heard and practice this technique with real-world examples from our own workplaces.
In two hours you’ll hear the theory, understand how it applies to Tech based on expert experience, and rehearse these important leadership skills in a safe environment.
