Detangling ourselves from Big Tech

In 2027, we all know that Big Tech companies do not have our best interest in mind. Yet we are so entangled in their products and services, be it through our family, friends and professional networks, through work environments and devices, or simply the convenience these platforms got us so used to.

In this talk, we will take steps to regain ownership of our data and digital services, and learn how to build resilient online communities along the way.

Who is this talk for?

Anyone looking for a way to start or continue getting off Big Tech platforms, to convince their employers of better alternatives, and to help their communities choose technologies that reflect their values.

What will attendees take away?

  • You don't have to accept the technology status quo.

  • Simple steps can make a big difference for your data privacy.

  • There are plenty of really good alternatives to Big Tech.
